Mark, "300 lb man on a 25 lb fish boat"
You can use flippers with the platform
down.
The platform supports you with your feet under water. This lets you
wear flippers while casting. You can turn around 360 degrees
without hitting either the stand or the pontoons. That way you can
cast in any direction, wherever the fish are. When it is time to
start flippering again, just kick the platform back under the seat
and away you go.
It folds into a backpack.
Pontoons and complete frame fit into a pack with padded shoulder
straps and hip belt. And there's still room for your extra
gear.
Setup is easy.
Most of the parts are shock-corded together. Set up is intuitive
and fast.
The boat can be carried on your back for
portaging.
The pontoons can be folded behind the frame. The seat becomes
padding for your back, and two padded shoulder straps are
provided.
The frame is strong.
The aircraft tubing that we use is anodized 6061 T6 alloy tubing.
We have used this same tubing for years with our folding kayaks and
have great confidence in it.
The pontoons are strong.
We use this same material on our light weight kayak hulls. It is a
tough, urethane coated nylon, made especially for us by a
specialized fabric company in Connecticut, U.S.A. Each pontoon is
2.43 m x 34.5 cm (8 ft x 13.5").
Production is green.
No PVC is used in our boats. PVC is known as an unstable, dirty
chemical to produce and manufacture with. (Its use is severely
restricted in Europe.) We use urethane fabrics, which are
chemically stable, are harder and more durable than PVC. Our
supplier's factory in Connecticut is in the middle of a residential
neighbourhood, producing minimal to no pollution. We do not use any
chemical glues during the manufacture of our pontoons. Instead, we
use RF welding and hot air welding techniques. Zero emissions. We
recycle all unused aluminum parts. Our seamless, drawn, aluminum
alloy tubing is made in the U.S.A.
Follow-up service is great.
The vast majority of pontoon boats are made overseas. This is good
for the initial sale price, but maybe not so good for follow up
service. We service what we make, and have been doing so for thirty
years!
