The K-Light was first introduced in 1993 and quickly became our best seller. In 2000, we re-imagined the K-Light to become the Kahuna. After receiving many requests for the return of the K-Light, the model was re-introduced to the line in 2006.

Having the fewest frame pieces, the K-Light assembly time can be as little as 15 minutes. To keep the weight down, the cross ribs are injection-molded polycarbonate. The frame uses a lighter weight 5/8″ diameter tubing. The design also incorporates a simpler mid-connector system with only one extension bar for the keel.

The K-Light suits a smaller paddler looking for a light weight kayak for day trips or long weekends in less exposed waterways. The kayak tracks well in most conditions, but a rudder or the strap-on-skeg are available options. Access hatches can also be added to make the most of gear storage.

The main differences between the K-Light and the Kahuna are kayak length and assembly time. The K-Light is shorter, so will be slower and hold less gear.
